Maikaba frustrated with Inconsistent Rangers

Rangers Coach Abdul Maikaba is unhappy with his side’s inconsistent form in the early weeks of the NPFL season.

The Flying Antelopes waited until match day five to register their first win of the campaign.

Bookmakers tipped them to build on the win and get a good result in the match day six against winless Wikki Tourists, only for the six-time Nigerian Champions to put in another disappointing shift.

A Poor first 45 minutes cost them dearly as Wikki Tourists ran away with the maximum three points, courtesy of a 1-0 win.

Maikaba was frustrated with the result and the performance, the Coach suggested his players went to sleep in the first half.

“Wikki played a fantastic first half and they deserve their goal in that half of the game but, my players woke up from their slumber in the second half,” Maikaba remarked after the game.

Rangers will face Doma United who themselves ended Rivers United’s unbeaten run in the league, and Maikaba says they’ll be ready for the task.

“It was a painful loss but we have to go back home and prepare for our next match which is in a week’s time. I believe that the time will be enough for us to prepare well for a convincing win,” he concluded.
