Victor Boniface continues to make waves in the Bundesliga as the Nigerian forward has been shortlisted for the prestigious Rookie of the Month award.
This recognition comes as no surprise following Boniface’s impressive start to his Bundelisga career at Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface, who joined Bayer Leverkusen from Belgium club Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer, has wasted no time in making an impact, scoring and assisting goals.
In just three league games for Xabi Alonso’s side, the 22-year-old has already scored four goals and provided two assists.
His first goal of last Saturday’s match secured a spot among the top five goals of matchday three in the Bundesliga.
However, the striker faces strong competition for the Rookie of the Month award from German-Nigerian goalkeeper Noah Atubolu of SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig winger Xavi Simons.
To be eligible for this award, players must be under the age of 23 on matchday 1 of their debut season in the Bundesliga.
