Raja Casablanca beat AS Vita 4-3 to win 2018 CAF Confederation Cup

Raja Casablanca of Morocco survived a late fight back from AS Vita Club of DR Congo to win the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup 4-3 on aggregate on Sunday.

Raja who defeated Nigerian side Enyimba in the semi-final took a 3 goals first leg advantage to Kinshasa for the second leg and suffered 3-1 defeat but it was enough to see them crowned champion.

Raja’s Abdelilah Hafidi made it 40 for visitors after 21 minutes into the second leg, when he scored from the mistake of AS Vita at the back .

Vita Club fought back into the match and restored parity on the stroke of half-time through Makusu Mundele to set up a tensed second 45 minutes.

Two late goals in the second half from Mukoko Batezadio andFabrice Ngoma for the host reduced the deficit and put in a difficult position for remainder of the game.

 

Raja stood firm and withstand everything thrown at them by Vita to become Confederation Cup winners for 2018.
