Southampton’s Nigerian midfielder, Joe Aribo has garnered commendations from his club’s manager, Russell Martin following his resurgence on the pitch.

Martin, speaking about Aribo’s recent performances, described the midfielder as a top player for the team.

The Midfielder was instrumental in Southampton’s commanding 3-0 victory over Preston, where he notably completed the highest number of passes among all players on the field and had two shots on target.

Additionally, the former Rangers star has been instrumental Southampton’s attacking play, winning a total of 11 fouls across the last three fixtures.

When questioned about his assessment of Aribo’s recent displays, Coach Martin expressed his admiration for the midfielder’s contributions, highlighting his impact on the team’s recent successes.

“He has been excellent. He hasn’t played a huge amount of minutes since he came back from the AFCON but he has been excellent.

“It was a huge amount of minutes for him in the last few games. Joe is a top player. It took him a while when he got back because he hadn’t played for three or four weeks at AFCON.

“He had a brilliant tournament with some fantastic experiences, but he came back and took a while to get back up to speed.”
