Erstwhile Super Eagles interim coach Austin Eguavoen has suggested he could return to the side in the future in a coaching capacity, despite the disappointment of failing to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Eguavoen-led consortium of coaches was disbanded by the Nigeria Football Federation following the World Cup qualification fiasco, just a month after it was announced they would get a two and half-year mandate to tinker the side.
Super Eagles fell to the Black Stars of Ghana in the playoff last month to miss out of the global football Fiesta.
Speaking on Monday night football, Eguavoen admitted that, the defeat will continue to haunt him for a long time.
When asked if he nursed the ambitions of managing the Super Eagles in the near future, he responded in the affirmative.
“Yes, I wish to coach Super Eagles in the future,” the former Super Eagles CB quipped.
Meanwhile, in spite of the dismissal of the Men’s national Team’s technical crew, Eguavoen retained his position as Technical director of the NFF.
