New Zealand dented Nigeria’s medal chances with a 65-110 win in their first game of the Pool A Men’s Preliminary Round clash in the Commonwealth Games on Friday.
The Tall Blacks dominated from the tip off and picked up every quarter giving D’Tigers no fighting chance.
Azuoma Dike scored a team high 15 points, including four from downtown in five attempts.
Earlier, Australia defeated Canada in the other Pool A game. The Boomers eased past the North Americans 95-55.
Nigeria will get the chance to redeem their bruised egos on Saturday when they take on Canada.
