Zimbabwe Receives Financial boost ahead of Nigeria Clash

Zimbabwe’s Warriors resumed training on Friday after a one-day strike protesting the non-payment of bonuses, allowances, and appearance fees.

The team, also demanded a bonus despite the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZiFA) only budgeting for a winning bonus.

ZiFA deposited the funds into players’ accounts late yesterday to prevent another standoff before their upcoming pivotal match against Nigeria at Huye Stadium, on Sunday.

Players officially returned to training on Friday and are in high spirit ahead of the game against the three-time African Champions.

Zimbabwe held Rwanda to a goalless draw in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, at the Huye Stadium on Thursday.

The Warriors adopted the stadium as their home ground as no Stadium in Zimbabwe was deem fit to host a FIFA game.
