19-year-old Match-winner delivers for Plateau United

Holders Plateau United got their title defence off on a positive note with a 1-0 win on the road against Nasarawa United on Sunday.

It was matchday one of the new season and Kennedy Boboye’s men picked up where they left off last season, securing three points courtesy a late goal from 19-year-old Ayagwa Raphael.

Plateau United were joined by Niger Tornadoes as the only teams to secure way victories in the opening games of the 2017-18 NPFL season.

Tornadoes defeated Kwara United 2-0 in Ilorin.
