Rivers United striker Sunday Adetunji has narrated his ordeal in the current campaign starting the 2020/2021 Football season with Plateau united.
Adetunji moved from playing in the CAF champions league, tested positive for Covid-19, featured for Iganmu FC in the Nationwide League, and now set to feature in the Premier League again.
Adetunji speaking in a chat with brila.net said it’s been a mixed season for him but excited with the Rivers united deal coming at this moment in his career just a few weeks after playing in the Nigerian third-tier NLO.
He revealed that he also had the chance to join Tanzanian side Simba FC after facing them in the CAF champions league before been denied the chance to feature in the second leg due to Covid-19.
“The move just came at the right time, at the moment the chance arrived so I just have to take up the opportunity at Rivers united. Simba was like can you come to us we will like to sign you and I said no it’s not done that way. Playing in the NLO was just to boost my fitness, in life you take two steps backward and take plenty of steps forward. I don’t think it’s a bad decision for me and it really helped my game.”
