According to reports Gateway United FC of Ogun State may not prosecute Nigeria National league match day 5 clash against Osun United at Osogbo Township stadium on Saturday 11th January due to lack of funds.
Reports have it that the club borrowed funds to prosecute most of its matches since the start of 2019/2020 NNL season, although the state government who are the sole financer of the team are yet to confirm the reports.
However, it is unclear if the club will honour the game against Osun United, unless there is last minute intervention from somewhere.
Meanwhile failure to turn up for the game means , Osun United will declared winner of the encounter with three goals.
Gateway United are 2nd on the long in the B1 version of the Southern conference with the hope of beating 3SC for the elusive topflight ticket which may be out of their grip.
