Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo became the first European to score 100 international goals in men’s football after a brilliant free-kick against Sweden on Tuesday.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward curled in a stunning effort into the top corner from 25 yards to reach the landmark as Portugal secured a 2-0 win over 10-man Sweden.
After 72 minutes, the Juventus forward curled in a second goal from the edge of the penalty area.
Portugal who are the defending champions have now two wins from their opening Nations League fixtures, and top the table ahead of France, who beat Croatia 4-2 in Paris
The Juve forward is within nine goals of the world-record 109 that Iran’s Ali Daei managed during his playing career.
