It was another commanding display and an exhibition from Europe’s most in form duo as Serie A January player of the month, Victor Osimhen with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia led Napoli to a 3-0 victory over Cremonese.

Cremonese were without Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke on the day, but it was the other Nigerian who was hard to ignore and Osimhen’s performance was inspiring.

Kvaratskhelia opened scoring in 22 minutes to celebrate his 22nd birthday and was a menace all through as he alongside Osimhen terrorized the defense all through the first half.

The second-half was tight as Cremonese looked to respond but in the 65th minute, Osimhen once again scored for the sixth Serie A game running as he showed a great poacher’s instinct to double the lead after Kim Min-jae knocked down a corner into his path.

Eljif Elmas came off the bench and scored the third after he was found by Giovanni de Lorenzo, Kvaratskhelia was replaced in the 83rd minute to a rousing applause from the home supporters.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has now scored 17 goals in 18 appearance and is second only behind Erling Haaland with the most non Penalty goals in Europe.

He also puts daylight between him and nearest contender, Ademola Lookman, as the Nigerian winger could only get an assist in Atalanta’s win against Lazio.
