Nottingham Forest, manager Nuno Espirito Santo assured fans that Taiwo Awoniyi will eventually return to action this season.

Awoniyi’s absence was keenly felt during Forest’s recent Premier League fixture against Luton Town and the March international break.

The 26-year-old has faced persistent fitness challenges throughout the season, impacting both his performance for Nottingham Forest and his availability for the national team.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Nottingham Forest’s PL clash with Crystal Palace, manager Nuno Espirito Santo provided insights into Awoniyi’s latest fitness setback.

“It is a big blow for us because he had just come back (from injury). The importance of Taiwo is huge. He gives us another option.

“I don’t know exactly how long he will be out for but I am positive we are going to see him again this season. He will definitely miss these two games.

The news comes as a blow to both the player and the club as they approach the final stretch of the season.
