It’s about 5 hours before the kick off for the Nigeria vs South Africa Afcon qualifying match in Uyo.

The Super Eagles wrapped up their preparation for the game with video analysis and closed door training on Thursday and officially retired at about 11pm.

It’s past two hours since their breakfast, but what have the players been tweeting about ahead of the grudge match?

The likes of Shehu Abdullahi, Victor Osimhen and co were on twitter early…but for others, their last tweets came before they hit the sacks on Thursday.


They shared messages celebrating their families, friends and fans.

Midfielder John Ogu celebrated his daughter’s birthday, while William Troost-Ekong shared a picture in training and his readiness ahead of Matchday.

Ogu tweeted: “My girl is 1 year today!!I wish you many more years my Queen.U make me work harder.I love u too much ❤️❤️.You will never lack by Gods grace”

Troost-Ekong tweeted: “🇳🇬🦅Ready for the big game tomorrow against South Africa. #SuperEagles”

Midfielder Shehu Abdullahi offered tickets to fans:
